An Overview of the Shack
This is probably not the correct term for my operational area, since it's a table placed in the middle of an open plan living room/dining room/kitchen. Since the balcony is the best place to mount an outside aerial, the spare room isn't an appropriate place to setup my equipment since it's the opposite side of the flat.
Anyway, I use the remains of an old foldaway table as the base for my radios. The foldaway surfaces have been removed leaving just the middle section. Cable conduit has been run around the inside of the table to conceal much of the wiring but other than that, nothing special has been done to it. This provides just enough room for my radios, speakers, a small clock, lamp and notebook.
I plan to recruit an old laptop to aid with callsign lookups and logging. However, the screen is damaged so I need to obtain a small monitor and an external keyboard and mouse. This will also be put to use for digital modes such as SSTV and RTTY.
